Honest, active, efficient, highly qualified, quite, prestigious, hard worker, and creative manager. He has been chosen in 2005 to continue the successful role of Regional Center for Food and Feed (RCFF) following Dr. Akila Saleh Hamza the founder of the center.

A lot of experience was achieved by Dr Emara after thirty one Years of active work at RCFF not only with people in this sensitive field but also with customers and many other scientific areas.

During his managing period, RCFF sustained its marked, trusted and positive role in the food/feed safety and quality control, supported by the internationally accredited specified laboratories which give a sense of comfort for all its contact customers.

Qualifications:

1-    BSc. Of Agriculture Science, Ain Shams University, 1974.

2-    MSc. Of Agriculture Science (Horticulture), Ain Shams University, 1985.

3-    PhD of Agriculture Science (Horticulture), Ain Shams University, 1992.

4-    Senior Researcher (Chemical contaminants), Central Laboratory for Food and Feed, 1998.

5-    Head of Research, Regional Center for Food and Feed, 2004.

Title of MSc. thesis:

“Response of certain common bean cultivars, Phaseolus vulgaris L., to Nitrogen fertilization”.

 

Title of PhD thesis:

“Effect of some cultural practices on yield, quality and nutritional value of Tomato”.

 

 

Scientific and extension activities:

1-    Attended the International training course in the field of grain inspection and feed quality control in Kansas State University with the title of ”Feed quality short course” arranged by International Grains Program, Kansas State University, Manhattan, USA and US Grains Council.

2-    Participated in the organization of the three “International training courses on feed grains and finished feed” held in Central Laboratory for Food and Feed, in 1993, 1995, 1996 for many trainees from Arab and foreign countries like Turkey, India and Malaysia which were arranged together with US Grains Council, USA.

3-    Joined with Regional Center for Food and Feed in 1980 and shared –together with other pioneers in the regional center- to make it one of the most important quality control bodies in the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and also in the Middle East.

4-    Participating in the establishment and founding of Feed grain inspection and grading lab. in Cairo head quarter, Dekhila Port-Alexandria- lab, Port Saieed Port lab and Damietta Port lab and in the training of all staff members of all these labs to be the 1st lab in the Middle East doing this activity.

5-    Participating in publishing all articles related to food and nutrition for human and animals from the start of RCFF till now.

6-    Responsible of the registration office for feed, feed ingredients and feed additives in the Technical Support department, RCFF till 2005.

7-    Participating in the training courses arranged for animal production specialists in different governorates for quality control and improvement of animal feed conducted by RCFF, US Grain Council and Animal Production development Sector.

8-    Participating in the training courses for trainees from Iraq in the field of Grains inspection and grading in RCFF from 9-17 April 2004.

9-    Establishment of two Grains Inspection labs. In Damaskus and Tartoos in Syria and participating in the training courses for Syrian trainees in the field of Grains inspection, grading and sampling (for Corn, Barely, Soya bean and Sorghum) from 2000 to 2004.

 

10-                       Arranged, attended and organized many of national and international seminars:

15-                       Member of the technical committee for setting and reviewing the technical specifications of different laboratory instruments in RCFF.

25-                       Participating in setting the National Research Program in RCFF from 2002-2007 and from 2007-2012.

26-                       Participating with quality control team in RCFF in the achievement of ISO 17025 in 2004 and in the renewal of it in 2006 and 2008.

27-                       Attending training course on “The use of computerized systems in the laboratories” which included LIMS and QA responsibility.

28-                       Shared in the establishment and founding of 2 laboratories for grains inspection and grading in Damascus and Tartous, Syria -as an agreement between RCFF and US grains council- and performed all procedures (training, setting the instruments, etc) needed for starting work in them from 20-28/4/2002 and 10-17/5/2002.

29-                         Shared in the technical committees for inspecting and shipping of imported grains and feed ingredients shipments from USA, Argentina, Turkey and Syria.

30-                       Establishment and founding of Wheat and flour analysis lab, RCFF as an agreement with the French Grains Association.

31-                       Attended the international Seminar on “A global symposium on quality assured, traceable and biosecure grains and oilseeds for the 21st century”, in State of Indiana , USA from 18 to 23 July 2004

32-                       Attended the Environmental Biosafety short course concerning GM food, Michigan State University, USA from 30 July to 4 August, 2006
