What is the meaning of Accreditation?

Laboratory accreditation is a way of determining the technical competence of laboratories to perform specific types of testing,
measurement and calibration. It also provides formal recognition to competent laboratories.

What is the ISO/IEC 17025 standard?
Is the “General requirements for the competence of calibration and testing”. This standard is divided into two sections managerial and technical.  The managerial requirements item (4) includes: Organization, Quality system, Document control, Review of requests, tenders and contracts, Subcontracting of tests and calibration (not applicable at RCFF), Purchasing services and suppliers, Service to client, Complaints, Control of nonconforming testing and /or calibration work, Improvement, Corrective action, Preventive action, Control of records, Internal audits and Management reviews.
General: Personnel, Accommodation and environmental conditions, Test and calibration methods and method validation, Equipment, Measurement traceability, Sampling (not applicable at RCFF), Handling of test calibration items, Assuring the quality of test and calibration results, Reporting the results.

RCFF has been accredited since 2004 from American Association for laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) and renewed its accreditation every two years.

Laboratories accredited in 2004 are:  Vitamins Lab.,  Amino Acids lab.,   Mycotoxin Lab., Grain inspection lab. and Heavy metals Lab.

Finally, renewed its accreditation in 2010 and expand the scope for some laboratories.

Laboratories expand its scope are: Vitamins Lab., Heavy metals Lab. and  Food safety Lab.

And renewed its accreditation in 2006 for the previous laboratories and added new 3 laboratories:   Protein lab.,    Food safety Lab., Biological Fluids Lab. Then renewed its accreditation in 2008 with the same laboratories and the same tests.

New accredited laboratories in 2010 are: Water analysis Lab.,  Fatty acids Lab,  General Chemical analysis Lab., Energy Lab.,  Microscopic analysis Lab.,  Biotechnology Lab. and  Agricultural by product evaluation Lab
